Vincent Pooch, Director
In 1992 Vincent established what is today the firm of Key Business Partners Limited. He saw an opportunity to provide customers a high quality, customised service, driven not by ‘deals’ but by relationships. Vincent first qualified as an engineer (NZCE Mechanical) and started his career in the road transport industry. The finance industry then attracted him and he started down the path to further studies, including qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (CA). Subsequently he has also studied specialist topics at Insead and Harvard Universities.
Vincent’s areas of expertise are:
- corporate strategy
- business analysis and financing
- business valuation
- infrastructure businesses such as ports, electricity and resources
- transport and logistics
Vincent is well experienced in governance with current roles including Chairing the boards of industry leading companies Smith Crane & Construction Limited and Auckland Cranes Limited. He is a Director of explosives manufacturer/drill & blast specialist RedBull Powder Co Limited and recently retired as a Director of bulk logistics specialist Dynes Transport Limited. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand (Inc); also an Associate Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. In June 2010 Vincent received an Award from the Fendalton/Waimairi Community Board in recognition of his 10 years’ service as a Trustee of Burnside High School and associated entities.
Outside work, Vincent is a keen mountain biker, rogainer and adventurer. He has competed many times in the Speights Coast to Coast, The Gold Rush, The Round Taupo World Rogaine Championships and other events. Notable other achievements include sinking his unbreakable Kevlar kayak in the Pike River in Fiordland. His passions include trekking and travelling amongst the amazing mountains and beautiful people of Nepal as well as his grandchildren.
