As we roll past another anniversary of the first Christchurch earthquake, media remain fixated with what still needs fixing including various emblem projects notably the Cathedral.
In contrast I would like to highlight something that is new shiny and special post earthquake: Albion Square in Lyttelton. Saturday alfresco lunch and coffee here with son and grandson was (once again) a memorable experience. Well-designed outdoor space with relocated War Memorial to the north and new gateway to the south framing the humming commercial activity at Lyttelton Port. I like it!
Cheers to Albion Square and all those who conceived and delivered it.
